Roman Blind - Description At ROISIN CROSS SILKS you will learn about silk and its evolution from factory to the catwalk. Students will also learn to appreciate silk as a valuable but scarce commodity. Students will get to see the finest silk collection in Ireland as well as being able to witness at first hand dresses from the finest local designers. RCS is known nationwide as being synonymous for the highest quality in silk and this quality extends also to the RCS educational experience.
Whether you enjoy keeping up with the Jones’s, you are exhausted looking at the same limited designs or if you just want to add your own personal touch to a room - this course on Roman Blinds will add luxury, warmth and elegance to any home.
Made up of a fabric that forms soft folds when raised, Roman blinds will add a neat touch of sophistication to your space. You will not only extend your sewing skills, widen your creativity but you will also acquire an understanding for material selection and appreciation.
The programme concentrates on each student creating their own fully lined silk Roman Blind with a particular emphasis on designing, fabric analysis, construction techniques and measuring.
Fee €150.00. This is inclusive of silks, lining, Interlining other materials and lunch.
Pipped silk cushion - Description This course is designed to give you a broad education in the importance and relevance of soft furnishings. The programme concentrates on each student creating their own sample cushion or throw with a particular emphasis on creative designing, manipulation of fabric, piping, zip installation and button techniques. You will be encouraged to develop skills for finishing the piece to a professional standard.
Fee €150.00. This is inclusive of silks, cushion filler and lunch.
